SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The contestants are seventh and eighth graders and their topic is global: Ensuring the availability of sustainable water and basic sanitation.
The six winners of the Human Rights Day essay contest will read their works tonight at the Multi-Cultural Center.
Cathy Brechtelsbauer says because the topic is water, attendees will raise their water glasses and toast to a healthy, limitless supply.
Brechtelsbauer says this is the fifth anniversary of the event in Sioux Falls. The ceremony starts tonight at 6:30.
