SIOUX FALLS (KELO AM) - Sioux Falls Fire Rescue and the Sioux Falls Firefighters Association have teamed up to make winter comfort packs available in fire trucks, police cars, and Paramedics Plus ambulances, and at the City’s Health Department. During the course of their normal duties, fire crews, police officers, and paramedics will be able to hand out these packs when they identify a need.
“We know this is not an answer to homelessness in Sioux Falls, but it is a way for our crews to help our city’s homeless population with some immediately needed items,” says Brad Goodroad, Fire Rescue Division Chief.
The packs will include nonperishable food, hats, gloves, hand warmers, and personal hygiene items. All of the items in the comfort packs have been donated by local sponsorship partners.
Sioux Falls Fire Rescue would like to thank these following major partners for their contribution to this project, along with several smaller contributors:
- · Feeding South Dakota
- · Avera Health
- · Sioux Falls Fire Chiefs Association
