VERMILLION (KELO AM) -- Visitors and vendors at next week's Dakota Farm Show at the DakotaDome in Vermillion can receive a free health screening by faculty and students from the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine and USD's School of Health Sciences.
The painless screenings include a blood pressure check, a test of grip strength and a simple balance test. Participants will be able to compare their results with national norms, and university experts can consult with them about their results.
The health review is part of the USD Division of Health Affairs’ mission to provide health care service to residents of South Dakota and the region, especially people from rural areas. All aspects of the service are free at the screening booth that will be located in the lobby of the DakotaDome.
Nearly 300 exhibitors plan to attend the 33rd annual Dakota Farm Show, which runs Tuesday-Thursday, Jan. 5-8.
