SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Lewis and Clark Regional Water System yesterday awarded an over $5 million water pipeline contract for a segment between Luverne and Magnolia, Minnesota.
Executive Director Troy Larson says the low bid from Carstensen Contracting of Pipestone was 30 percent below what was budgeted.
Larson the bid came at the right time when prices of oil and steel are low. He says contruction is scheduled to begin next spring and finish in the fall.
Larson says it brings the total project to almost seventy percent complete. Lewis and Clark currently serves water to 12 of its 20 member cities and rural water systems.
