SIOUX FALLS, S.D (KELO AM) - A Minnehaha County grand jury yesterday returned an indictment against a Sioux Falls man for the armed robbery of the Casey’s on North Kiwanis January 7th.
Officer Sam Clemens says 21-year-old Joshua Ryan Powell was already behind bars for aggravated assault.
Clemens says Powell's arrest led to more information from the public. When the case was presented to the Minnehaha County State's Attorney, the decision was made to go to a grand jury instead of seeking an arrest warrant.
The suspect in the robbery did not show a handgun but implied he was armed.
Clemens couldn't says what the aggravated assault case is against Powell.
