SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - A Colton man is charged with the armed robbery of the Fireside Casino on South Carolyn Avenue in Sioux Falls last weekend.

Officer Sam Clemens says 44-year-old Chad Christopher Riedel is accused of robbing the casino at knifepoint and handcuffing the clerk to a pipe.  Clemens says the female clerk still managed to call police but a locksmith had to free her from the handcuffs, which he describes as "novelty cuffs."

Riedel is also accused of taking the clerk's vehicle in his getaway.  That vehicle turned up 24 hours later abandoned on West 39th Street in Sioux Falls.

After seeing the surveillance video of the robbery the clerk, the manager and a relative were able to lead authorities to Riedel's home in Colton.

Minnehaha County Sheriff's deputies arrested Riedel at his home on East 5th Street.  They also found needles with trace amounts of meth and charged him with possession of a controlled substance.

Clemens says authorities found the clothing Riedel wore during the robbery and a handcuff key, which he says, opened the handcuffs recovered from the robbery.

Riedel also faces charges of armed robbery, possession of a stolen vehicle and is being held on $25,000 bond.
