SD DOT to study Highway 42 in Sioux Falls

SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO AM) - The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT), in collaboration with the Sioux Falls Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), Minnehaha County and the City of Sioux Falls, will hold a public open house to inform area residents of a corridor study for Highway 42 from the McCook County Line to Ellis Road.

This open house public meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2016, at the SDDOT’s Sioux Falls Area Office (5316 W 60th St N).

The purpose for the open house is to inform the public of the study’s intent, to record any concerns the public may have along the study’s corridor and to gather ideas to help determine the future look of the corridor. The study will address a full range of transportation options and issues, including pedestrian, bicycle, transit, freight and automobile. 

For those who cannot attend the meeting or would like additional information on the study, information will be made available online a few days after the meeting atwww.42corridorplan.com.

The open house will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the location indicated. A brief, summarizing presentation will be made at approximately 5:45 p.m. The open house will allow discussion with SDDOT, county, city, MPO and consultant staff. The opportunity to present written comments will be provided.  Written comments will be accepted until March 2.

Notice is further given to individuals with disabilities that this commission meeting is being held in a physically accessible place.
