Sioux Falls man threatens ex with axe

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Police say a Sioux Falls women was not injured when her ex-boyfriend threatened her with an axe.

Officer Sam Clemens says 23-year-old Tyler Campbell Croushore grabbed an axe he had in his bedroom and took a swing at the 21-year-old victim.

Clemens says the victim told detectives that the axe came inches from her neck.  Croushore says it took everything he had not to follow through.

Croushore returned to the South Thompson Avenue apartment he shared with his ex-girlfriend and another roommate.  The argument began when the female victim found some her clothing torn and it escalated from there.       

Croushore is charged with domestic aggravated assault.  He's also charged with intentional damage to property for allegedly tearing the victim's clothing.
