SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The extra officers on Saturday’s saturation patrol made ten D-W-I arrests.
Officer Sam Clemens says the fifteen officers wrote a total of 158 citations between seven Saturday night and three Sunday morning. That does not include the number of tickets issued by the regularly scheduled patrol.
Clemens says the goal is to have the extra officers not write any tickets or make any arrests. But he says there are still people out there drinking and driving and the saturation patrols will continue.
Clemens says police worked all of Sioux Falls including some 40 high complaint streets.
He says officers also wrote 13 speeding tickets and and 23 tickets for no insurance
