Sioux Falls, SD (KELO-AM) - After a 26 year project, the water from the Lewis and Clark Rural Water system is flowing in Luverne, Minnesota this week. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Monday in the southwest Minnesota community. Luverne Mayor Pat Baustian says the impact of the completion will be felt in that community for 50 to one hundred years. He adds the hook up now clears the way for continued economic development. Residents in the Rock County city will have their tap activated Wednesday. L & C Executive Director Troy Larson says seven more communities are ahead to connect, including Worthington, Minnesota.
