SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Property taxes are the primary source of funding for Sioux Falls public schools, emphasizing the importance of next month's school board election.

Amy Smolik with the Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce says the five candidates will take part in tomorrow night's forum at the Instructional Planning Center.

Smolik says each candidate will have one minute to make an opening statement, one minute to respond to questions offered from the audience through a moderator and one minute to make finishing remarks.  There will not be any rebuttals.

The five candidates are Peter Vaughn Pischke, Randy Dobberpuhl, Carly R, Reiter, Kent Alberty and Dianna Stelling.  The candidates are running for two-three year terms.

The Chamber and the League of Women Voters are sponsoring the forum tomorrow night at 6:30.

They are also holding a Municipal Candidate Forum on Thursday, April 7 at Carnegie Town Hall, five days prior to the election.
