SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The South Dakota Outdoor Adventure Foundation grants hunting and fishing adventures to kids and young adults suffering life-threatening illnesses and combat-disabled veterans.
Foundation Director Vern Boer says the annual fundraising banquet is Saturday night at the Ramada on Russell.
Boer says South Dakota kids love to be outside fishing and hunting. He says wounded warriors are the same and sometimes when they return from service or combat they may not have a place to hunt or their physical limitations prevent them from enjoying the outdoors. Boer says that's where the Foundation steps in to help.
The banquet includes a buffet, raffle, live and silent auctions, fishing and hunting packages and all money goes to granting outdoor adventures.
Boer says the banquet also features guest speakers and a special presentation of elk, bear and turkey mounts to some of the hunting participants.
