SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The City of Sioux Falls is pitching in a million dollars to support large, multi-unit, affordable housing development projects.
Community Development Director Darrin Smith says the projects should provide housing for residents at 80 percent or less of the area's median income.
The Sioux Falls Community Development Department will accept formal applications through the end of May.
The application for funding is available on the city's website or from the Affordable Housing Division at 235 West Tenth Street.
Only applications for new projects or those with substantial rehabilitation of existing structures will be considered. The City may distribute the full $1 million in the initial round of application or to engage in a second round of applications if necessary.
