SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Sioux Falls is recognizing businesses that employ disabled employees with a sticker program.
The City’s Disability Awareness Commission is partnering with the Sioux Falls Business Resource Network to recognize businesses that employ disabled workers.
Mayor Mike Huether says eligible businesses will receive disability-friendly stickers. Huether says look for businesses with the sticker on their window. He says when you find them, buy more goods and visit them more often. He says those retailers are God's stewards.
Huether recognized Camille’s Sidewalk Café, Hy-Vee, Lowes and T-J Maxx as the first disability-friendly retailers.
Businesses employing disable workers can be nominated to receive a designation by contacting the Business Resource Network or the City’s Human Relations office.
