Sioux Falls, SD (KELO-AM) A plan to build a new 25 million dollar City Administration next to Van Eps Park got a push forward by the Council Tuesday night. Two weeks ago, the first reading for the bond sale supporting it's financing was approved, with a condition to re-approve the bond sale this fall. After that meeting, three councilors, Jamison, Erickson and Karsky, made a push to keep exploring options such as remodeling the 300 building and other existing properties to house municipal functions. That led to a move to re-consider the bond sale. The motion never came during the session, so the bond sale moves forward, and goes into the city's rule book.
Councilor-Elect Greg Neitzert, who will represent the city's northwest side, say's he'll bring a repeal measure up after being seated, but admits the chance to turn back the project is slim, since it would take five votes.
A group of residents opposing the move say they're not done voicing their opposition to the move.
