Sioux Falls, SD (KELO-AM) The Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls will beef up security with walk through metal detectors, beginning with the Sioux Falls Storm game April 30.
"It's a sign of the times," says Events Center Director of Sales and Public Relations, Rick Huffman, "It is something that has become more and more a request of touring events, the artists and managers."
The detectors will be used at most touring events. Doors will open 90 minutes before most events to help provide adequate time for guests to pass through the security checkpoint.
Bag restrictions are also changing. Patrons may bring in bags that measure no largers than 13" by 15".
"I like to kinda compare it to being no different then going to the airport to catch a flight, just without all the baggage that comes with it," says Huffman. The procedure is about the same.
