SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Police estimate that someone caused almost $400,000 in damage to construction equipment near the intersection of Maple Street and Marion Road early this morning.

Officer Sam Clemens says the vandal managed to start up a backhoe and tipped over other pieces.

Clemens says they tipped over a F-350 pickup, a Caterpillar payloader, a Kenworth utility truck and a second backhoe.  He says they destroyed the cab and the engine of the Kenworth.

Clemens says when officers arrived they found a Toyota Camry nearby.  They heard someone running from the site and getting into the Toyota and driving off.  The car was stolen from a Billions lot and the suspect brought it back to the same lot after the spree.

Clemens says there has not been an arrest and they don't have any suspects
