Sioux Falls, SD (KELO AM) - Box office workers at the Denny Sanford Premier center will get a workout on Friday when tickets for two major concerts will go on sale within two hours of each other.

Dolly Parton’s Pure and Simple tour and Twenty One Pilots' Emotional Roadshow will both play Sioux Falls in the next year, and despite the shows being a good seven months apart from each other (July 22nd and February 4th respectively) both tours have scheduled their general public ticket sales to begin on Friday.

Fans of Dolly Parton will get the first honors with a 10AM on-sale time, Twenty One Pilots tickets will go on sale at noon. Online sales for each show will also begin at those same times. It should be noted that Ticketmaster retail outlets will not be able to sell tickets for the Twenty One Pilots show, those will only be available online, by phone, or at the Premier Center box office.

“When you are dealing with national announcements or very specifically timed announcements, many times you don’t have a choice. Luckily in this case we were able to stagger the on-sale times, and we don’t think one will affect the other,” said the Premier Center’s Chris Semrau. He adds that it’s rare for a venue like the Premier Center to have two major concert announcements like this in one day, catering to a wide range of musical tastes. “To have an icon of the music industry [Parton] want to tour this year, and want to include Sioux Falls on that tour, it’s a big deal.” While Twenty One Pilots are considered to be one of the rising stars of the music industry, with songs that have topped several different alternative and top 40 charts. The duo performed last winter at The District and was greeted by fans who lined up outside the venue for more than 10 hours to get a spot close to the stage.

Staff will be on hand to direct the early birds who want to get in line to separate areas. Once the Parton tickets are out, Twenty One Pilots fans will be ushered in to wait for their show. While that may sound like chaos, Semrau thinks his staff will handle the situation well. “We’ve done many on-sales, and our staff does a fantastic job of getting the purchasers in, getting them the seats they need, and getting them out.”

As with many big-name shows in the past, Semrau says your best bet to make sure you get tickets is to multiply your chances beginning with special pre-sales. If that doesn’t work, on the day of the show you can try logging in to Ticketmaster on multiple devices such as an iPad or smart phone. Those in line at the Premier Center box office can log into the Ticketmaster site on their handheld devices to give themselves another chance at scoring seats for the show.
