SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - A fifth South Dakota Republican has tossed his hat into the race for the U-S Senate seat being vacated by Tim Johnson.

Yankton attorney and Army Reserve Major Jason Ravnsborg (pronounced ROWNS-burg) announced his bid today.

Ravnsborg says he’ll campaign on the federal budget and opposing ObamaCare.  He says when it comes to the budget, it's not about how much the country makes, it's how much it spends.  He claims ObamaCare is a program that the people never wanted.  He says now that it's law, the country is supposed to say "that's great."

Ravnsborg  says he’s going to run a positive campaign that shows vision.

He says, with his military service, he also brings strong leadership.

The other Republican candidates include former governor Mike Rounds, state Senator Larry Rhoden, state Representative Stace Nelson and Sioux Falls physician Annette Bosworth.
