SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The City is hosting an open house Thursday on the expansion of the Arrowhead Parkway from Sycamore Avenue to East 26th Street.
Engineer Josh VandenBos says this is the first opportunity for the public to see the preliminary design options.
VandenBos says the project will widen the roadway allowing for greater traffic flow. The roadway will expand to six lanes, three in each direction, from Sycamore to Highway 100. Also two lanes each direction, four lanes total, from Highway 100 to 26th Street.
VandenBos says designs should be firm in the fall with construction slated for next year.
Open house is 5:30 at Fred Assam Elementary School at 7700 East Willowwood Street. He says the intent is to inform and seek public input so the public will have the opportunity to ask questions about the project and present oral and written comments.
