SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO-AM) Two freshmen Sioux Falls City Councilors keep pushing back against the Huether Administration's desire for a new $22 million dollar administrative building downtown.
Councilor Greg Neitzert keeps asking for alternatives, is afraid council may not be doing enough to find options. Councilor Theresa Stehly says, maybe, there should be a city-wide vote to let residents decide the issue, or, at least, a town hall meeting to get the public involved.
Veteran Councilor Rex Rolfing promised to update his colleagues next week on possible alternatives to a new building after further briefings from city officials who, apparently, have been vetting existing buildings to see if they might do.
The Huether Administration says the new building is needed to ease overcrowding of city workers in other buildings, especially as Sioux Falls continues to grow.
