SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO-AM) May 2016 was the best May ever for building permits in Sioux Falls with $97.5 million of construction valuation.
The mighty May keeps Sioux Falls rolling toward what would be the fourth record breaking year in a row. City Permits Chief Ron Bell says construction valuation year to date is some $353 million, compared to $294 million at the same point in 2015.
"Amazing, just totally amazing." Bell tells KELO Radio with a chuckle.
Bell says some high end projects helped pace construction in May, including the University Heights apartment complex in the northwest part of Sioux Falls and Jones 421, a multi-use project in downtown. Other big projects were Amesbury Truth, Arbor Ridge senior housing, JDS Industries, and Thelin Center Townhomes.
