SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The Pettigrew Heights Neighborhood Association will plant prairie grasses Saturday morning at the triangle green space at Grange Avenue and 11th Street.
Association member Kathryn Henning says a sculpture called “Obtuse” currently sits on the city-owned, public right of way.
Henning says volunteers are asked to show up tomorrow morning at nine. The plan is to put mulch around the statue, plant switchgrass and bluestem. The Association wants to make the site more inviting for neighbors. Henning hopes to the make triangle a gathering site for residents and visitors.
She says large bench-size quartzite rocks will be placed near the art at a later date.
The neighborhood green space improvement project is part of the new City of Sioux Falls’ Neighborhood Project Grant Program.
