SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Minnehaha County Sheriff's deputies yesterday busted a chop-shop in Hartford that specialized in rebuilding high-end, stolen Hondas.
Sergeant Jason Gearman says it was a Facebook post that led authorities to 18-year-old Mitchell German.
Gearman says one of the first Sioux Falls victims posted that his car had been stolen and one of the responses was to look at a large storage shed in Hartford. He contacted authorities who began an investigation.
The chop-shop worked on Honda Accords and Accuras. Gearman say the shed was loaded with Honda parts and cars in various conditions. The cars where stolen in Sioux Falls.
German is charged with grand theft, receiving stolen property and intentional damage to property.
This is not connected to the burglary ring that breaks into storage sheds.
