SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Hillary Clinton, the Democrats presumptive nominee, won South Dakota's primary yesterday by almost 1,100 votes.
Republican Donald Trump received 67% of the state's votes yesterday meaning a third split their votes between Ted Cruz and John Kasich.
Clinton beat Sanders by just over 700 votes in Minnehaha County. Trump won the county with 61% of the vote.
Based on the results of the South Dakota Democratic Primary, Sanders will be awarded 10 pledged delegates and Clinton will be awarded 10 pledged delegates in South Dakota
There likely will be a recount in the Republican primary for Minnehaha County Commissioner. Dean Karsky beat incumbent Dick Kelly by 13 votes. Jean Bender was the overall winner with almost 37% of the vote.
Kris Swanson won the Republican primary for Minnehaha County Treasurer.
Other Republican primary winners include Deb Peters over Lora Hubbel in the state senate District 9 race. State representative winners include Chris Karr and Mark Willadsen in District Eleven, Tom Holmes and Larry Zikmund in District 14 and Roger Hunt and Tom Pischke move to the general election in District 25.
Democratic Party primary winners included Reynold Nesiba in the state senator District 15 race and Dan Ahlers and David Haagenson in the state representative District 25 contest.
Minnehaha County's voter turnout was 17% with over 20,000 residents voting yesterday.
