SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - To reach more kids through Feeding South Dakota's BackPack program, three Sioux Falls Fire Rescue stations will serve as distribution sites where families can pickup a weekend food package.
Jennifer Stensaas with Feeding South Dakota says another partnership with Celebration Community Church makes the BackPack program possible this summer.
Stensaas says Celebration Church has graciously donated the funds to sponsor the BackPack program to the tune of $32,000.
The BackPacks will be available at Fire Station 3 (2820 South Minnesota Avenue), Fire Station 7 (1100 East Benson Road) and Fire Station 8 (1000 North Kiwanis Avenue). Families can pick up packs at these stations Fridays between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Feeding South Dakota will distribute BackPacks on Fridays at Sioux Falls schools participating in the Summer Food Service Program.
The Summer BackPack program starts tomorrow.
