SIOUX FALLS, S.D.  (KELO AM)  - Outside Kalamazoo, Michigan, last night hundreds of bicyclists completed the ride started by nine members of the Chain Gang run down by a man in a pickup truck last week.

Before the ride, Lance Armstrong and members of the bicycle group visited some of the four survivors in their hospital rooms and met with some of the family members of the five riders who died.

Armstrong thank the families for letting him come to the hospital adding that he knows he's "not for everybody."  He says this incident touche home.

Armstrong later addressed the roughly 800 bikers who turned out for the ride.

He said he's never been in a (hospital) room like that, where there were about forty people with him. He says it was very difficult for him.

Armstrong said he could not stay away.
