SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO-AM) On December 21, 2013, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded to an apartment fire at 1305 North Cleveland Avenue.
First-arriving crews found smoke and flames coming from the first floor of a three-story structure. Crews evacuated the building and had the fire under control in approximately 20 minutes. One person was transported to a local hospital for burns.
Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded with 2 support vehicles, 5 fire trucks, and 25 firefighters. The cause of the fire is under investigation. The apartment building did not have a sprinkler system.
Sioux Falls Fire Rescue would like to remind residents to leave the building when they hear the fire alarms.
