SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - A Sioux Falls man suffered minor injuries last night when he was attacked by a man armed with a pipe.
Officer Sam Clemens says the 56-year-old man was walking to a friend’s house on South Summit Avenue around 8:30. The suspect was talking to the victim who kept walking and didn't respond. Clemens says 42-year-old Joseph Martin Serna is accused of hitting the victim in the head with the pipe and punching him in the face.
Clemens says 42-year-old Joseph Martin Serna was arrested at his home just blocks from the attack and charged with aggravated assault.
Clemens says both men had been drinking. The victim didn't know the attacker or what provoked him.
