Sioux Falls, S.D. (KELO AM) - If you were out driving around Sioux Falls, you were witness to high wind, snow and whiteout conditions usually reserved for country driving.  The situation became serious enough for Sioux Falls Public and Sioux Falls Catholic Schools to cancel all after school activities.

"High winds mixed with 2.4 inches of snow created hazardous driving conditions in town," said Brad Adams, National Weather Service, Sioux Falls.  "Tomorrow (Saturday) we will have another storm Northeast of Sioux Falls that will bring us a little new snow and blow around the existing snow.  Around mid-day the winds are expected to reach 25 to 30 miles per hour; but nothing like yesterday."

Adams said conditions are going to rebound on Sunday with highs reaching 30s and 40s across the state.  He added that we aren't out of the woods for the winter and drivers should keep a survival kit in their cars to include, blankets, protein bars, hand warmers, candles and water.
