SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Senator John Thune toed the party line today in reacting to President Obama’s state of the union speech.

Thune questions the President’s lack of willingness to work across party lines.  He says policies should shrink the debt and the deficit and reduce the size of government

Thune says Transportation officials yesterday issued an emergency declaration so propane truckers can exceed driving limits. He says the supply disruption, wet fall corn and the recent cold spell reduced the propane supply.

Some of the hardest hit areas in the Dakotas are the American Indian reservations.

The Farm Bill passed the U-S House today Thune hasn’t decided yet if he can support it.  He says he’s concerned about a flawed commodity title that sets high target prices for covered crops.

Thune expects the Senate to act on the bill next week.
