PIERRE, S.D.(KELO-AM) – Showplace Wood Products, a manufacturer of high-end cabinetry based out of Harrisburg, S.D., announced today that it is growing once again. The Board of Economic Development approved the company for a Revolving Economic Development and Initiative (REDI) Fund loan last month, a program that has been instrumental to the company’s growth and success over the years. The funds will be used to purchase new equipment which will lead to the creation of 100 jobs within the company over the next three years.
“The REDI Fund is designed to promote job growth in our state,” said Gov. Dennis Daugaard. “Since Showplace Wood Products opened its doors in 1999, the company has utilized the REDI Fund program several times, creating hundreds of jobs in southeastern South Dakota.”
“It is great to see the impact local companies have as they grow and expand in our region,” said Nick Fosheim, executive director, Minnehaha County and Lincoln County Economic Development Associations. “We congratulate Showplace on its expansion and look forward to its continued success.”
"The financial support received through the state's REDI Fund has been significant to growing our business, allowing us to contribute in positive ways to South Dakota’s economy," said Showplace director of marketing Scott Korsten. "We're proud to have fully-repaid all our previous REDI Fund loans and the employment goals made possible by those loans were exceeded. It's exciting and rewarding to again find it necessary to expand production capacity and add employees."
