SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO-AM) - Sioux Falls' first homicide victim of the year was found dead in her bathtub with the water running is what family members are telling Keloland TV, then they realized that Kari Kirkegaard's purse was missing.
Officer Sam Clemens says investigators are still focused on missing bed sheets from the victim's home on South Garfield Avenue, but they don’t know what to expect if they're found. He says it's odd that they're missing.
Clemens says Kirkegaard was last seen by family members on Friday night and it was family that found her body in the bathroom on Sunday. Police think she died sometime Saturday.
Clemens says police don’t believe that the public is in danger.
He says they're stilling trying to locate anyone that had seen or talked with Kirkegaard over the weekend.
