SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Tomorrow’s tax deadline means another pack of papers with personal information for your files.
Jessie Schmidt with the Better Business Bureau says the rule of thumb for tax records is to keep them for seven years.
Schmidt says the annual Better Business Bureau and Crimestoppers annual document shred event is Saturday, April 26th at three Sioux Falls locations. She says yoyu can bring boxes or bags of sensitive documents to be shredded. Don't worry about removing staples, paper clips or binding because the shredders are heavy duty.
Schmidt says you'll be asked to donate $5 a box to Crimestoppers of the Sioux Empire. Crimstoppers allows tipsters to remain anonymous and be eligible for cash rewards that leads to the arrest or criminal charges of those responsible for crimes.
