SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The frontrunner in the Republican U-S Senate primary in South Dakota bowed out of last night’s Siouxland Republican Women’s debate in Sioux Falls.
The four candidates that attended were asked if they’re truly conservative. Answers varied from fiscal conservatism, smaller governnment to Dr. Annette Benning singing.
Candidates present included Larry Rhoden of Union Center, Stace Nelson of Fulton, Jason Ravnsborg of Yankton and Dr. Annette Benning of Sioux Falls.
Each candidate expressed their belief that Mike Rounds has no excuse for missing debates. Rounds initially accepted the invitation to the deabte but begged off saying he had to attend the dedication of his Rapid City campaign office.
The South Dakota primary election is June 3.
