SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Severe weather awareness week starts Monday in South Dakota.
Sioux Falls Meteorologist Todd Heitkamp says a severe weather training session is Monday at the Washington Pavilion. Heitkamp says the Weather Service and the Emergency Management offices in Lincoln and Minnehaha Counties and the City of Sioux Falls.
He says the session will highlight weather safety guidelines, storm spotting and weather history from an area that offers some nation's biggest headlines.
The session is open to the public at no cost and no registration is necessary.
