SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - A motorcyclist lost control of his bike on a road two miles east of Midway Corner Sunday afternoon and authorities don’t know what happened.
Captain Jim Hoekman with the Minnehaha County Sheriff’s office says the 22-year-old from rural Garretson just passed a pickup. Hoekman says the driver of the pickup says the motorcyclist wasn't speeding or driving erratically. The driver of the pickup lost sight of the biker over a small hill and when he got to the top he saw the bike on it's side and the rider thrown onto the road.
Hoekman says there were no witnesses to the actual crash so authorities don't know how he lost control.
Hoekman says the victim is in stable condition but is unconscious.
He says a helmet probably saved his life.
