SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO-AM) On Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at approximately 6:30 p.m., Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded to a grass fire at 4100 North Harley Place.
First-arriving crews found a large grass fire south of 4100 North Harley Place. The fire perimeter was contained at approximately 7 p.m. Sioux Falls Fire Rescue personnel remained on scene until 9:15 p.m. looking for embers. There were no civilian or firefighter injuries. No structures were damaged in the area and approximately 20 acres burned.
Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded with 6 support vehicles, 4 fire trucks, and 23 firefighters. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Sioux Falls Fire Rescue would like to remind residents that conditions are very dry in our area and vegetation ignites and burns quickly.
