SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) -- The National Weather Service in Sioux Falls' forecast:
An active weather pattern expected through the weekend, with chances for showers and thunderstorms, mainly during the PM hours. Scattered strong to severe storms are possible Friday with isolated strong to severe storms possible Saturday and Sunday.
Otherwise, heat and humidity continue. Heat index values will climb near and above 100 for Friday and Saturday. More seasonable and dry conditions expected Monday.
Strong to severe storms are possible Friday evening and into the early overnight hours.
Locations west of Sioux Falls and west of the I-29 corridor have the highest chances to see storm development.
Storms in this area may have frequent lightning, strong outflow wind gusts, and hail directly under storm cores.
