Sioux Falls, SD (KELO AM) - Here are the construction projects scheduled to start this week in Sioux Falls.

 

East Tenth Street and South Second Avenue Street Reconstruction

Starting on Monday morning, May 5, 2014 street reconstruction will begin at the intersection of East Tenth Street and South Second Avenue.  Westbound traffic will be reduced to one lane through the intersection of East Tenth Street during the project.  Second Avenue will be closed at South Third Avenue and no right turn will be possible from East Tenth Street to northbound East River Road.  There will be no access from East River Road to East Tenth Street.

The completion date for the project is July, 2014.  T&R Contracting of Sioux Falls, South Dakota is the prime contractor.  Motorists are urged to use caution in this area. 

 

Technology Drive/Technology Circle

Starting Monday morning, May 5, 2014, the intersection of Technology Drive and Technology Circle will be closed for approximately three days to allow construction crews to install new water main and repair the street surface. Work within the intersection is anticipated to be complete by Thursday, May 8. Traffic in this area will be detoured to Solberg Avenue.  Motorists are urged to use caution while driving near the work area.

Additionally, Technology Circle will be closed from May 5 through approximately June 1 to allow construction crews to install new water main and street surfacing.

The project is anticipated to be completed by June 1, 2014.

 

Sanitary Sewer Construction on Madison Street between Elmwood Avenue and West Avenue

Beginning on Monday, May 5, 2014, construction crews will be working on Madison Street between Elmwood Avenue and West Avenue. Work will consist of five sanitary sewer repairs. Two way traffic will be maintained and channeled around the work area. Work is expected to take approximately ten days with favorable working conditions.

Motorists are urged to reduce speeds when passing the work zones.

 

Street Repairs on South Louise Avenue Between I-29 and Shirley Avenue

Beginning Monday, May 5, 2014, concrete repairs will begin on South Louise Avenue between I-29 and Shirley Avenue. Traffic will be restricted to one lane at times, but South Louise Avenue traffic will be maintained in both directions at all times.

The work is expected to be completed in five days.

Traffic delays are to be expected. Motorists are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while travelling in the construction areas and may wish to consider alternate routes.

 

Farm Field Park Work

On Monday, May 5, 2014, construction crews will install concrete curb and gutter on the north side of the Farm Field Park entrance road. The entrance road will remain open to traffic during this work, but construction equipment and workers will be present near the driving lanes.  Motorists are urged to use caution and reduced speeds when utilizing the entrance road during this work.

Weather permitting, this work will be completed by the end of the day on Monday, May 5, 2014.
