Sioux Falls, S.D. (KELO-AM) - Worthington police are investigating an apparent murder/suicide at Crossroads Care Center in Worthington.
Just before 10:00 p.m. Friday evening, police responded to a report of gunshots heard by nursing home staff. Officers found Doris Doust, 86, a resident at the center with a gunshot wound to her head. Her husband, George Doust, 87, was also found with a gunshot wound to the head.
Authorities say Mr. Doust was not a resident at the care facility and it's believed his gunshot wound was self-inflicted. They were both pronounced dead at a Sioux Falls hospital.
