SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - A 17-year-old girl from Badger died in a three vehicle accident Monday afternoon just west of Arlington.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol says Savannah Koistinen was turning into a private driveway when she was rear-ended by vehicle driven by 25-year-old Cynthia Holmquest of Sioux Falls. Holmquest was an off duty Sioux Falls Police Officer.
Koistinen’s car was forced into the oncoming lane and was hit by a school bus transporting a high school volleyball team.
Koistinen died at the scene, her two teenage passengers were taken to Sioux Falls suffering serious but non-life threatening injuries.
There were minor injuries on the school bus.
Holmquest was not injured and was cited for careless driving.
