Sioux Falls, S.D. (KELO AM) On Saturday morning, May 10, traffic on several streets in the southeast part of Sioux Falls will be impacted by the Avera Race Against Breast Cancer. Southeastern Avenue from 41st Street to 49th Street will be closed beginning at 5:00 AM. At 7:00 AM Southeastern Avenue will be closed from 26th Street to 49th Street for the remainder of the race.
The City is asking cleanup crews at Rotary and Cherry Rock Parks to arrive around nine to ease some of the congestion.
Other street closures will begin at 7:30 AM. Roadways impacted will be:
- · Bahnson Avenue from 33rd to 29th Streets
- · 49th Street from Southeastern to Bahnson
- · 41st Street from Southeastern to Bahnson
- · Old Orchard from Southeastern to 33rd Street
It is anticipated that the race will be concluded by 11:00 AM with some streets opening sooner. Sioux Falls Police Officers will be present to assist with traffic control. The Sioux Falls Police Department asks that motorists drive with care in this area during the race. We will make every effort to reduce traffic delays for the motor public in this area on Saturday morning.
