SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - A Sioux Falls man surrendered early this morning after an eight hour standoff with police at a home on South Western Avenue, two blocks south of 12th Street.
Officer Sam Clemens says 25-year-old Derek Jordan Arapahoe was wanted on felony drug charges, was considered armed and had threatened officers.
The Sioux Falls Area Warrant Task Force was following Arapahoe and saw him go into a house at 513 South Western Avenue around 6 p.m. A perimeter was established and the SWAT team was called in. Arapahoe walked out of the house just before two this morning.
Arapahoe was arrested on felony warrants. Other charges are possible.
