SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Most of the trash along the Big Sioux River will be easy for volunteers to pick up during this weekend’s Greenway Cleanup.
But Sustainability Technician Jessica Lantgen says some trash will require motorized removal. She says kayakers tell the city that there are some larger pieces of junk dotting the river.
Lantgen says volunteers can help clean any of the parks along the River Saturday morning from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday. Gloves and garbage bags will be provided. You're advised to wear long pants, long-sleeved shirt and closed toe shoes.
Volunteer coordinators will be at the park shelters to hand out trash bags and offer direction.
