SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Sioux Falls letter carriers will pick up non-perishable food items Saturday for the Stamp Out Hunger campaign.
Carrier Eric Wicks says the donations will go to Feeding South Dakota who provides food to people in need. Wicks asks that you don't donate food packed in glass. Give canned soup, canned vegetables, pasta, rice or cereal. You can also donate bath soap,shampoo, toothpaste or other toiletries.
Over 150,000 Sioux Falls residents received a a shopping bag to be filled for the annual food drive. Leave your donation in a bag by your mailbox and the carriers will pick it up Saturday, May 10, on their routes.
Feeding South Dakota will use the donations to stock the Food Pantry in Sioux Falls which distributes 77,000 pound of food a month.
