SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) -  Police say a 15-year-old Sioux Falls boy suffered minor injuries in a single-vehicle accident early yesterday morning near Falls Park.

Officer Sam Clemens says the boy was speeding when he hit two power poles, two breaker boxes and two trees.  Clemens says a patrol car was just coming into Falls Park on Weber when they saw the lights go out.

He says they found the car upside down, the boy hitting a window trying to get out and the car on fire. Clemens says police smashed the window and drug the boy out through the window.

The resulting outage left a number of customers in downtown Sioux Falls without power.  Excel Energy estimated the amount of damage at $150,000.

The boy is charged with D-W-I, reckless driving and no license.
