SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Police were called to break up a group drinking around an apartment building on West 11th Street Sunday afternoon.
The owner of the apartments called police after one member of party produced a knife and threatened him. Officer Sam Clemens says police arrived and the suspect still had the knife but left the scene.
Clemens says cops cornered the suspect who was with another man and released a K-9 after he failed to obey orders. Clemens says the dog went after the wrong man and bit him. The handler redirected the dog toward the armed suspect and he was subdued.
Both men were taken to the hospital to be treated for the bites. Their injuries were minor
Clemens says 47-year-old Thomas Jerome Williams is charged with aggravated assault, obstructing police and resisting arrest.
