SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - If you need emergency care, don’t drive yourself to the hospital, call 9-1-1 for help.

Chrissy Meyer with the American Heart Association says that’s the message of a new ad campaign coming out next week.

Meyer says that while it might be tempting to drive yourself, or have someone else drive you, to the emergency room you're short changing yourself to the immediate treatment the paramedics can provide.

Meyer hears it all:  don’t want to be a bother, too expensive and don’t want an ambulance at the house.  She says they can all prove fatal.
