SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Senator Tim Johnson says there’s been a rush to judgment by many to condemn President Obama’s action in the Bowe Bergdahl incident.
Johnson says there’s a lot we don’t know and he’s reserving judgment.
Johnson says Bergdahl remains subject to American laws, civil or criminal. He says President Obama should have notified Congress, but he doubts the President made the decision lightly.
Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel admitted to the House Armed Services Committee yesterday that the President could have done a better job of keeping Congress informed but added that time was not on the administration's side.
